Participation Poetry

Hey all my fellow poetry people. I’m running a little group poem over on my Facebook author page. Basically, I’m trying to get a bunch of people to contribute a line or two to a poem. Go over and check it out at the link below. If you decide to participate, be sure to like my page so I can tag you when the poem is done. Also, make sure to read the full post before participating. As always, stay focused and write on!

Poetry Book

I mentioned that I had a poetry book published. It’s not full length, but you still get plenty of verse for the cost. Check it out on Amazon here:

Cut Up 9

Here’s a little something I carved out of the advice column in the local newspaper the other day. Stay Focused and Write On!

Verbal and emotional incompatibility

can leave you high and dry,

Which negatively affects better solutions.

This combination of sacrifices leaves no reward,

for keeping your expectations in check,

and can cause a lot of grief in the long run

Cut Up 8

It’s been a minute since my last post. I was on vacation, so I didn’t get much time to do all the social media stuff. But I’m back at it now. I did manage to finish a rough draft of a short story and submit a few lines of poetry to Project 411, which I mentioned previously.

Anyway, here’s another cut up for your enjoyment.  Stay Focused and Write On!

We must always view our potential as a whole problem

The question is, how to witness the overall layout from within?

The best we can hope to do,

given the circumstances,

is cash out before the situation is dispersed beyond our sight.

Another week is in the books. I’m working on getting a few lines of poetry together to submit to a very cool project here in Indiana.  It’s called the Project 411 and I love the concept. Check it out here if you want to learn more.

And now, for your reading enjoyment, here’s another cut up I found on the corner of a newspaper clipping. Stay Focused and Write On!
Lack of finesse can be very bothersome at times

And many fail solely because this situation is annoying.

However, they are sure to succeed,

with meticulous manipulation of words.

It’s been a busy couple of months here lately. I keep setting aside time to write, usually on my days off and then I wind up crashing out on the couch. Sleep 12 Writing 1.

Here’s a quick cut up poem I dug out of the heap of forgotten poems in an attempt to breathe new life into it. Stay Focused and Write On!

So far it appears that,                       What they were supposed to do Started following in the footsteps of Collapsing under the opposition.

I’m having a love/hate relationship with my writing right now. Just lacking motivation. It’s not like I don’t have a billion ideas, it’s more like a billion things to get accomplished. So here’s a gem I found from several years ago. I didn’t even remember this one.  Stay Focused and Write On!

Thoughts wander,

souls roam,

The days roll by like thunder,

as dreams fly before the storm.

Pen It! Magazine

Well, I’ve been super busy the past few weeks. Translation, I haven’t done nearly as much writing as I’d like. Although, I did get to see Peter Frampton and Joan Jett in concert. Not at the same time. Bet that would be one hell of a show.

Several weeks ago I mentioned getting a poem published in a local literary magazine. The issue is now out. The magazine is called Pen It! magazine and it’s pretty good.  If you want to see what folks in Indiana are writing about or find new authors to follow, I’d suggest heading over to the site.  Subscription prices are reasonable and the issues are packed with all sorts of goodies.
